Week of October 11

Welcome to our blog.  I am glad to see that you found the note about accessing our classroom blog in your child's folder. 
This week, your child needs to read at least 15 minutes a night.  Your child should also practice addition and subtraction facts through 18 each night.  You can also help your child with math by counting by 2's, 3's, 5's and 10's. 
Homework:
Tuesday, 10/11:  Math 3.1, 3.2, Social Studies definition page, Handwriting practice page
Wednesday, 10/12:  Math 2.1
Thursday, 10/13:  Second spelling test is on Friday, Math 2.2

Homework and Notes for week of 9/19

Please continue to look for support for our BIG school fundraiser, the Westwood Read-A-Thon!  All money raised will go towards technology for our classrooms.  This fundraiser is a win-win situation since the kids read as they earn money for their school.  As a safety precaution, please do not allow your child to go door-to-door without adult supervision.

Your child should also be reading at least 15 minutes each night.  That means, they should be reading 45 minutes over the weekend.

Monday's homework was: Math page 1-15 and Social Studies Map page
Tuesday's homework:  Math page 1-16

Don't forget that Wednesday is a late start!

Making Memories in 2nd Grade

We have had a great start to the school year together.  Take a moment and think about what you like best about second grade so far.  Please post your answer.  By the way, you can't say recess :) !
